Fabulous Lashes

Your eyes are one of the first things people notice when looking at you, so you better be able to flaunt those lashes. Your eyes need to pop and those lashes must be long, big and full. In order to do so, you must have some type of technique to work with or you're going to have to suffer through false lashes on a daily basis.

How to fake it:
1. Begin with the magic tool, the eyelash curler. Position the curler as close to the base of your lashes without pinching the skin. Clamp down gently and hold for a few seconds.
2. Move curler a little farther out, towards tip of lashes, and lightly press again. Do this twice more until you reach the tip of the lashes. (If your lashes are thin, this is where you would coat on a primer)
3. Take mascara and hold the wand at the base of your lashes. Wiggle slightly from side to side the brush through to the ends. Repeat this about three times to each eye letting mascara dry between coats.
4. After each coat of mascara, brush the top quarter of your lashes with an eyelash comb to create the feather-like look. To avoid smudging, do a coat with waterproof mascara.
5. Even more volume, glue a false lash to the outer corner of each eye at the lash line.
6. Hold the wand vertically and swipe across your lower lashes from inner to outer corner.

That's the secret to full lashes, now go flaunt them!

I am a huge fan recently with hair accessories whether it's a headband, extensions, and most importantly hair bows. This allows you to amp up your look easily and inexpensive. Hair bows have been around for centuries from Alice in Wonderland to The Sound of Music, and recently they have been making a bold statement. Morning Routine

Trick of the Trade

Back in action, day two of blog world! So I was recently reading InStyle Makeover and read some great beauty tricks that could help you on a day to day basis. The magazine had 50 best tips but I have listed 10 of my favs below, hope they can help your beautiful self!

1) Get Unstuck- nail polish wont budge? wrap a rubber band around the lid to get a better grip

2) Find Your Best Blush- choose a color that matches the pink of your knuckles when making fist

3) Mix Your Own Dry Shampoo- a fast and inexpensive way to get rid of grease. Add equal parts of baking soda and baby powder, sprinkle over hair and brush. Baking soda helps remove build up and baby powder soaks up the oil

4) Boost Lashes- before putting on mascara, dust translucent powder to add instant volume

5) Hair SPF- Mist a mixture of equal parts water and sunscreen before you hit the beach, it will keep color from fading and keep hair from drying out

6) Amp Your Lash Curler- Warm up the curler for no more than three seconds before curling lashes. This will open the hair cuticles giving them an instant boost

7) Punch Up Neon Polish- apply an opaque white polish before a neon shade. The flat base brings out the pigment of the color and illuminates it from underneath

8) Thin Out Clumpy Mascara- a drop of Coca Cola will reinvigorate you mascara's consistancy. The syrup adds just the right moisture without making it watery

9)Avoid Breakouts From Brushes- wash your makeup tools with a clarifying shampoo to rid them of product buildup that can cause blemishes.

10) Harden Nail Polish Faster- once they are partically dry, run nails under cold water. The icy tempature will speed up setting your polish

hello blogging world, I'm Ashley and am totally knew to this whole blogging thing. It took me forever just to figure out how it all works. Let me tell you a little info about myself. Clearly my name is Ashley, Ash, AJ, Ashee whichever is good for you is good for me, I am 21, from the LOU(St. Louis Mo) which is not all country, I mean for goodness sakes Nelly is from Missouri hahaha. I go to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising). I am majoring in probably the sweetest major you could ever think of, Beauty Marketing and Merchanding. How cool that while most people are learning about mathmatical equations, I get to learn how to make a lipstick! :) So what do I want to do with this fabulous degree? I am not too sure yet, that is why I am in school, so I can figure out what I am best at.

I love the cosmetic industry and have since I was a little chap putting lipstick all over my baby sister. Sorry about that britt, I am a little more advanced in that department now! That picture is off my sister and me now! I currently work at Red Robin, yum, in Redonodo Beach, but am totally missing my old red robin family.
